New York, New York

For spring break, I am visiting my friend in New York City. I am so excited! It is my first time to visit New York, and I have a million images in my head of what to expect. All of the Friends hanging out at Central Perk-- Harry and Sally eating at Katz's Delicatessen-- Holly Golightly at Tiffany & Co. I have to wonder if any of these images will actually be there when I arrive. New York has always been glamorized in the movies. All of my favorite films take place there, as well as many books that I have read and television shows that I watch all the time. I know that not everything in New York will be like the movies, but hopefully I won't be completely disappointed. I might miss the fantasy that the media has created, but now my romantic picture of New York will be replaced with a more realistic one. I will finally be able to make my own memories there and not rely on Carrie Bradshaw to show me what it's really like.
